SocialDiabetes and Dexcom Partner to Help People with Diabetes Improve Management and Control of the Disease

Madrid, September 26, 2023 – Dexcom, a company specializing in continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems for people with diabetes, and SocialDiabetes, a reference platform certified as a medical device internationally for diabetes management, have joined forces to help people with diabetes improve their control over the disease.

Through this international agreement, Dexcom device data is integrated into the SocialDiabetes platform along with other relevant health data such as insulin dosing data recorded by Smartpens, nutritional information and physical activity collected from various “wearables”; providing both patients and professionals with a complete metabolic map that facilitates decision-making and optimizes diabetes management in a comprehensive way.

Thanks to this collaboration, people with diabetes will have access to the most advanced technology of the moment for self-management of diabetes. The reliable and accurate data from Dexcom devices will reinforce key SocialDiabetes functions such as personalized therapy or complication prediction.

On their part, healthcare professionals will have continuous data, organized in a comprehensible and actionable way, to make an efficient, personalized and preventive follow-up of patients with diabetes.

We are delighted to continue our partnership with SocialDiabetes and provide people with diabetes with the information they need to make it easier to calculate the necessary insulin dose and provide them with better glycemic control,” says Raquel García, country manager of Dexcom Spain. “From Dexcom, we want to continue contributing to improving the quality of life of people with diabetes through advanced technologies.

For her part, María Jesús Salido, CEO of SocialDiabetes, explains that “At SocialDiabetes, we have always admired the quality of Dexcom devices. Now together, we can dream of transforming the lives of millions of people and accelerating the artificial intelligence projects in which we are immersed. This alliance is a great advance in terms of health innovation for the benefit of health systems, professionals, and patients.

From now on, and increasingly, thanks to this type of alliances, people with diabetes will be able to improve the control of the disease and will be able to be more active and make decisions about diabetes in an informed and autonomous way.
